- The Aztecs lived in the 14th,15th and the 16th century...
- They arrived to the valley of Mexico in 1248 and were conquered in 1521.

- They called themselves the ''Mexica''.
- The capital of the Aztec Empire Technochitlan.It was built and raised in the Island of Texcoco.
- Cortez dismantled the Aztec Monarchy and gained control of all the Technochitlan and many of its surrounding territories.
- The Aztec Empire was taken quickly by the Europeans led by Cortez.
- The Aztecs believed that they were the ''chosen people'' of Huitzilopochtli.
- The city grew and there was no more room for expansion.
- They were forced to move because their was no more room so they moved out into the Lake areas.
- The city of Technochitlan continued to grow. They had an estimate of 20.000 people.
- The Aztecs connnected the island to the Mainland by three water ways that ran threw the Lake of Texcoco separate from other salty lake areas.
- The city flourished until 1519 when Hernandez Cortez and his Spanish army arrived. What I learned about the Aztecs.
I learned that the Aztecs were conquered by Hernan Cortez and his army. The Aztecs had connected an island into the mainland in three different areas. They kept the fresh water separate from the salty lakes areas. What was interesting about the Aztecs was that they called themselves the ''Mexica''. The thing that I didn't like was that Cortez dismantled the Aztecs Monarchy and that he took took control of everything.
